Down pipe wrap?

Has anyone wrapped their down pipes to reduce underwood temperatures?

The wrap or the ceramic coating is more to keep the temps in the pipes to help with the flow. I don't think it will help reduce the temps under the hood.

An electric fan or better venting would be better options to lower temps under the hood.

it usually helps a lot, but on 135 there aren't so much exhaust under the hood.

on our inline 4 cylinder cars, where exhaust exit forward, when engine works i can touch and even take runners up in thin fabric gloves.

anyway, on our 135 both downpipes were wrapped

Uh...huh huh...reduce underwood temps? My wood is always hot, and wrapping the pipe isn't gonna help. huh huh.

Sorry. I always tell my GF that inside every adult man is a 12 year old boy that thinks farts and dick jokes are funny.

Wrapping the downpipe will absolutely reduce under-hood temps. Ive wrapped downpipes on several vehicles and all of them saw reduced engine temps.

Make sure that when you wrap the downpipe, start at the bottom and work towards the turbo. Seal the wrap if needed with silicone spray using at least 2 coats. You'll see some light smoke during startup but it will burn off.

Also, they have a new type of wrap that has like lava rock or something in it that doesn't require the silicone spray sealer. Ive never heard any complaints.
