pictures of piston wear and spark plugs
pulled out my spark plugs today to check them out and i put a snake camera were the spark plug goes in to check out my pistons. Cyl.1 and Cyl.5
are these normal wear ? 64,000 miles last time i changed my plugs was at 53,000 miles FBO cobb stg2+ 93oct i just had my oil sample results from Blackstone Labs because i thought i might of had injector fuel leak and the result came out very good . they didn't find anything. RESULTS> http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1110689 when i took the sample the oil did smell like fuel though.but as they said they didnt find any of that what do you guys think?

Sure you don't have an injector leaking? That piston top looks awfully wet. Run rough on cold starts?

Those plugs look fine. Definitely not very worn, which makes sense with ~10k on them. I changed a set at about the same interval for curiosity and they looked similar. My first set changed at 30k were severely worn!

FWIW, I would say if they didn't find any fuel in your oil, then you don't have to worry about having any fuel in your oil.
Combustion chambers take on all kinds of smells, don't let a plug be your guide (as far as your nose is concerned) about how things are going. |

When did you pull the plugs - right after driving? Right after a cold start? After sitting overnight?
The plugs look OK relatively speaking but are wet/fouled with something. Looks more like fuel than oil.

That's a fairly loaded question. We're not going to be able to answer that with just a boroscope picture of a wet piston crown. It's seen 65K miles so it's not going to be some shiny beautiful piece of metal.
Is there an issue you are trying to track down? Is compression dropping across a cylinder or bank? Pistons do seem to be the relative weak spot of the bottom end but unless you are running a very aggressive tune or are dealing with a huge amount of pressure/heat in-cylinder, there shouldn't be an issue south of 700WHP or so.
