Cobb Charge Pipe Install, missing a connection?
So I've got my engine apart right now, doing the BMS DCI and Cobb CP install, but the stock CP had three connections, one of which being a pipe in the middle which I had a hell of a time trying to get apart. The Cobb CP has only two connections and omits the middle pipe. What do I do with the other pipe that will just be lying there unconnected?

Well this is interesting. So that pipe in question, once I disconnected it from the CP, I noticed it wasn't even attached to anything in the engine bay? So I completely removed it altogether. I completed the install, did the DCI install as well, put everything back together and started it up, but no error codes. Drove it for about 50 miles around town, and still nothing. I guess it was just a useless pipe?
Great success.

It doesn't look like that. #14 is a pair with #13 and both were attached properly. The one I'm talking about was in the middle of those two and didn't appear to be attached to anything else besides the CP itself (unless I dislodged it from something accidentally) but the other end of it didn't seem like it should be attached to anything anyway. Seemed almost like a parallel OCC. I'll take a picture of it.

You're kidding? I could swear I saw a video of someone doing a before and after Active Sound disable on a 135i. Man so all that cabin sound is just from the frame resonance and the exhaust mods then hah? Too bad I was on the phone when I was doing my test drive after the mod, maybe it is a bit quieter. Only thing I really noticed was that the engine sounded "smoother" which I attributed to it getting the air volume that it needs, but maybe it's due to not having the noisybox installed anymore.

Not kidding. All e8x cars(including the 1M) do not have artificial sound generator thru the car's speakers. Our cars only have the tube under the hood which you deleted.

While I was in there I noticed that the stock CP was lined with engine oil, no pooling or anything, but I did see some oil at the IC connection as well. I know that this can be a sign of bad things (bad cylinder seal, failing turbos) but a friend of mine said that all turbo cars will have oil leaks into the exhaust sytem, there's nothing you can really do about it. Should I be concerned about this and bring it up to my indy next time I'm there? Should I just keep doing what I'm doing and wait until something breaks? Is it not really an issue, or maybe caused by the stock CP which is now removed?
The emissions warranty on turbos to 80k miles, is that only applicable at a BMW dealer and not an indy? That would suck because then I'd either have to remove all of my mods to have BMW replace the turbos, or just buy new turbos myself and leave the mods be.

Thanks. I actually have a BMS OCC, but never installed it. Guess that'll be my project for tomorrow. I've heard that some people stuff them with steel wool to increase retention, should I do that?

Not sure if that's really necessary or not. That's your call. First I've heard of that. I have a occ to put on too. I did my own valves 15k miles ago and they were pretty bad. Been running meth for the past 10k so hopefully that's helping keep them clean.
