A new 1er here

I love the site, and I love the car!

A couple of first impressions:

• Never take a wife and daughter to the dealership with you. I think I could have gotten a better deal!
• I am shocked at some of the 135 vs 128 bashing here. I see a one series on the road, I don't care which model, I feel like they are my brother. Other than that, I love this forum.
• I got this as a daily driver, either 41 miles each way to one office, or 24 miles one way on NoVA stop and go to the other office, so I went with the AT and non sport, so perhaps I will be looked down upon here. Pretty much had to get one from the lot (see first point above). Got the color I love (deep sea blue), got a nav system which I was iffy on but honestly I love now, and moonroof which I am learning to enjoy.
• I love this car. I really do.

Would have liked the Xenon, but didn't want the whole premium package. Wanted and adore the non turbo, I just miss having the sport seats and steering wheel. Did get power, heated seats. I assume I will need winter tires/wheels based upon the forums.

So, while it may seem wimpy to most here, for me coming from my old cars, this car is incredible and I love it. I smile every time I get in it, and find myself looking out the window at it in the driveway.

So, any other 1ers in Northern VA, say hello and if I see you on the road, I will wave. You made a great automotive choice!

...and I totally get the 1er vibe. My girlfriend and I were in Portland, OR, last month, and I horrified by her by running up to this couple in a 135 and complimenting them on their car. I have rather long, wild-ish hair, and I think they were pretty horrified, too... then I saw another one, driven w/ one person, and I gave them the '1' -- they smiled big, and gave me two thumbs up. I love having a unique (relatively speaking, of course) car, and seeing other who've made the same choice.

Now you just need the 1addicts.com sticker! Huzzah!

Wow! I never knew Deep Sea Blue would look this nice! On the configurator, it looked a little green which is a little off putting. If I could still order a new 1er, I'd get a 135is coupe in Deep Sea Blue over a Le Mans Blue.

Anyway, congrats on your new car. I really liked the N51 but I can't deny the sound and the feel of both turbo 35i variants. I'm hoping to get a new car soon (most likely a 1er too)

Congratulations on your new car... and welcome to the community! I ordered my car after a lengthy test drive and downselect process that included many different cars by many different manufacturers, but BEFORE browsing these forums. Some of the attitudes and opinions around 1-series models and options are a bit over the top ... N54 vs N55, DCT vs 6M, driving with DSC/DTC on vs off... I say have fun and enjoy your new ride! Most members will agree.
