Kosei K6R?
Anyone have any experience with these wheels? TireRack recommended them in a square 17x8 setup and said I could run PSS in 235/45 on them without rubbing or clearance issues on a stock 135i M-Sport. They are light and fairly inexpensive. Might be just what I'm looking for.

I'm sure the wheels are great based in what I've read, but my question more revolves around fitment specific to the 135i. I know the offsets can be a challenge and I am wondering if anyone has run this wheel/tire combo on a stock suspension without any camber plates/spacers and not had any fitment issues. Thanks.

235/45/17 may be very close to the front fender depending on the tire brand. Its a larger diameter than the stock size too.
I suggest getting 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear for those ET42 wheels. If the rear alignment is close to factory stock you will have enough space for the a very big selection of road tires. I have Michelin PSS in 225 / 245 staggered sizes and they have good clearance using wheels which are 17x8.0" with ET45 offset. What tires do you have in mind? |

You can fit 245/40/17 Michelin PSS on the front axle if you have some camber - They are not a big tire. However I wouldn't choose the Michelin PSS as a track tire. I tried it for one day on the track and found they become very slippery when they are hot. Also I lost a lot of tread depth in less than 30 mins track running.

I have a second set of wheels mounted with Toyo R888, which seem to be durable for track use and provide OK grip for my skill level which is still evolving. Hankook R-S3 seems to be one of the popular for track tires that can also be driven on the street. I see others using them on the track to good effect. I think they have about 0.5" wider tread than Michelin PSS in 245/40/17 size, so fitment on the Kosei rims will be very close to the fenders both front and rear. I think you will need about 3 degrees of front camber, 2 degrees rear camber, and I can't say for 100% sure if it will rub or not. |
