Hey Mike,

The vorshlag plates have always rattled over small bumps, driving me nuts. and i've never liked the feel of the stock suspension over larger bumps at highway speeds, so i would be upgrading to something better than stock and would recommend the same to anyone asking.

I almost pulled the trigger on some AST 4100s, but because the track springs rates everyone recommends are like 600/800, it seems like i would not like driving the car on the street that firm.

instead i am buying a track car (miata) and just making the 1 a street only car. Besides, the 1er and i have not really bonded at autox, i would rather be autoxing my old VW GTI than the 1, but i think some stiffening up of the suspension would change my mind, and little more autox exp - last year i only made it out to like 4 autox events :-( and the HPDE sort of took over as my high-speed thrill drug.

To that end, Dinan camber plates along with the M3 front bits are going on this week. I'm hoping to get the same -1.7 degrees of camber to fit 245/35s up front on my ARC 8s, so that new tires are not required this year AND the vorshlag rattle will be gone.

i'll be keeping the camber plates, but they won't go back on without at least some KW V1s or Koni coil-over (conversion). Doubtful that i'd spring for ASTs on a street only car, i would prefer the progressive springs of the KWs on the street.

yeah you def wouldn't wanna do linear springs for a street car. a friend of mine did on his z4m coupe and he didn't last a year. went to kwV3s

i'm def doing plates this year -- ground control tho, not the vorshlags -- just debating whether or not to do V3s at the same time

you'll love the m3 front stuff. are you doing just the control arms & tension rods, or sway bar too? really helps the steering response, tho i can def feel the firmer bushings over a few of somerville's finest (read: potholes)

Mike, don't screw around with the stock sized springs if you are doing the camber plates. Definitely do the coilovers at the same time if you can.

i already have an E92 sway, i really liked it when it went on. The weak link is the crappy Hankook Ventus V12s, they are just crap to me, less grip than the OEM runflats, imho. They love to slip, they do it all the time on the street, much easier than the RE050s and i'm running 275s in the rear.

I've got the rear subframe bushings too, but i'm debating on putting them in since the car is really just a street car now.

-if you do the install, i might buy myself a set and join you. i hear it's tough and a 2 man job
-if you don't, i might buy them off you

i heard the V12s were garbage too

Turner MotorSports is selling them for $209 and it's local pickup for me. I noticed they had them and at a reasonable price after posting this thread. I am not interested in having them shipped, because it's a last minute experiment for an install on Wednesday.

I spose i'm assuming you're in Germany like your sig states.

Ok, the guy couldn't install the rear subframe bushings without the tool... it was going to cost too much.

but now that i have the m3 parts up front - and friggin' love them, those rear bushings are going on.

I'm going to have to rent the tool, maybe if you want to get the same parts, we can get a deal from a garage to do the install? i don't have a garage to do the work and i figure for two cars, that's 8-12 hours of work, i'd rather just bill my hourly and have someone do it for me.

i have access to a garage, if that makes a difference. we'd prob need a full full day to do both cars, tho 2nd car would def be a quicker job

i'm down to at least see what it'd cost. i was hoping to save my money for coilovers tho
