HELP--Trunk won't close!

I did a search, but couldn't find anything, so apologies if this is covered elsewhere.

I decided to install the factory alarm this weekend. Everything went fine (disconnected the neg. battery terminal and installed all the parts) until I finished buttoning everything back up...I went to close the trunk and it wouldn't latch. I tried engaging the lock manually and then disengaging it with the FOB, the trunk release button, and the finger points above the license plate. Each work fine and the actuator appears to be functioning, but it won't latch when the trunk lid is pushed down.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
