OT - Car history

Given the success of the age thread and the arguments about when to buy fancy cars...

What is your car history?

To kick off:

WHEN: . . . . . . . . WHAT
1986-1990: . . . 1974 Holden Torana Plus 4 1.9 litre 4 cyl 4 sp man (green with racing stripes) . . . . Dog of a car. Hated it.
1990-1991: . . . 1983 Mitsubishi Sigma GL 2.6 litre 4 cyle 4sp man (Dayglow Yellow) . . . . . . . . . . . First taste of POWER! handled bad and chewed engines. Three rebuilds in a year
1991-1995: . . . 1990 Toyota Corolla Seca CS 1.6 litre 4 cyl 5 sp man (gold) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . First new car - I liked it and should have kept it - but wanted the 100kW engine
1995-1998: . . . 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero GLS 3.0 litre 6 cyl auto (Burgundy) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In Mt Isa you have to have a 4WD
1998-2002: . . . 1998 Subaru Liberty RX 2.5 litre 5 sp man (dark green) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fantastic car. Needed more power.
2001-2006: . . . 2001 Subaru Forrester GT 2.0 litre T 5 sp man (white) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I wouldn't buy the wife a WRX.
2002-2004: . . . 2002 BMW K1200RS bike (blue) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . First bike. Awesome power. I survived, just. Then came kids.
2004-2007: . . . 2004 Ford Territory Ghia AWD 4.0 litre auto (blue) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . To drive our son around in. Fair car, poor build quality
2006-2010: . . . 2006 Mazda 3 MPS 2.3 litre T 6sp man (red) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . My first real toy. Scary in the wet.
2007-2011: . . . 2007 Toyota Kulger Grande 3.5 litre AWD auto (black) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . To drive our daughter around in. Handled like a wet fish. Nice gadgets.
2010-xxxx: . . . 2010 BMW Z4 35is 3.0 litre TT 7 sp DCT (Blue) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . My mid life crisis. May be a keeper.
2011-xxxx: . . . 2011 BMW X3 30D 3.0 litre TD 8sp auto (carbon black) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Something I can enjoy driving that can still haul the kids around.

About one every 2 years... And a lot of depreciation later...

Pictures say it better than words...sorry to flood this thread, but I LOVE cars. I buy one about every year.

1991-2002 My first love. '79 MGB

Then there was a Mitsubishi Eclipse, Honda Civic, and GTI from 1996-2001 pre-digital photos.

2001-2004 '01 Nissan Frontier SC

2001-2003 '01 VW New Beetle (Not sure why, really)

2004 My first life in OZ '78 FJ40

2005-2007 '01 Honda s2000 Loved this car in the corners, but I blew up 2 motors trying to supercharge it.

2005-2006 '04 Chevy Silverado (Wouldnt ever buy one again.)

2006-2008 '06 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

2007- for one month I owned a VW Jetta, then saw this:

2007-2009 '05 M3 (First car I tracked, LOVED it, and miss it SO MUCH)

2008-2010 '06 Mercedes G500 (Best SUV on the planet, bar none, amazing offroad and on)

2008-2009 '84 Porsche SC Slantnose (I had a poster of this exact car on my wall as a kid)

2008-2009 MY FAVOURITE ALL TIME GARAGE!!! German Trifecta all at once...

2009-2010 '07 BMW M Coupe - BEAST on the track! Basically combined the M3 and 911 into one car.

2011 '96 Toyota Supra (first car back in OZ, hasty purchase, but re-sold it for $1500 profit)

2011 '05 Jeep Wrangler (liked it, but wanted a better commuter car)

2012 '86 BMW 325e (owned for 2 weeks, then the original owner pleaded to buy it back)

And my current car 120i, in the sig...

That makes 18 cars in my life so far, 17 of them since 1998 (14 years).

Am I an addict?

For someone who likes cars my list is pretty short.

2000-2004 1997 Golf CL - best car ever (doesn't everyone think this of their first car). Took multiple lickings and kept on ticking. Was driven like a (very underpowered) rally car.
2004-2007 1999 Saab 9-3 Convertible. Nice cruiser.
2007-2010 Overseas
2010 -2012 2007 Audi S3. Awesome car. Had all the APR stage 2+ gear and some minor suspension mods. Went like stink, lots of grip, handled great and sounded good for a 4 cyl.
