I saw that too but I think it was stupid expensive like $350 lol. I'll wait till iPhone 6 comes out just to make sure it's compatible.

I just modded my iPhone 4 cradle. Doesn't look pretty, but works just fine.

I do for the functions available in my 2011. There may be new functions in the 2012+ that this won't work for, but not sure why that would be. I simply used a Dremel to physically cut the cradle so the phone would fit, and then bought an Apple adapter to fit the Lightning port on the 5. I paid something like $75 for the cradle, used, and I've used it for my iPhone 4 and 5. Good deal! The price for the cradle from BMW is outrageous.

Ok, noob coming out in the open here. Cradle???? Where is there a place for a cradle in the 1 series? Mine has a leather pocket mounted underneath the center console and that's where I put my iPhone 4 that functions as my iPod for the car.

You had to pay for a feature that lets you then pay for a cradle. Quite a gimmick. All in all, not worth it, cause every time you switch phones, you need to shell out another $200 for a cradle - which, by the way, is never available until the phone has been out so long that you want a different one already.

On my 2011, I just used an apple adapter on the 30-pin y cable and all works. I can control forward and back, charge the phone, etc. I don't have I drive or a big screen, just the pro radio with the hifi stereo and the y cable.

I plugged in my iPad via the Apple USB and got the Connected App and M Laptimer working.
