If yours is a march build, then there have been a few slight mods, including to the programming to the eDiff, as well as extra colours / interiors ongoing from March.

Maybe that's what it refers to?

Mine's a march build. What's this about progrmming to the eDiff? Tell me more... What other mods do you know of?

I think Dodgy is refering to an American dealer bulletin or internal training document. However he is mistaken. That document does mention March build cars will come with tweak software to enable the e-diff, but I believe it is because 135i arrive in the States in March, not the fact that the cars will be built in March.

Yes, that's the document I was refering to. I must admit it read as cars built ratner than delivered in March, but what the hey. Given my order made the Feb build (apparently).

I hope you are correct and I get the "latest" itineration. It's interesting that you tracked yours as a TCi, and it's a March(?) build though. That would fit with a production update wouldn't it?

Spoke to my dealer today. He confirmed my car made Feb build (see above), but apart from that, he's got nothing else to tell me. Nothing from BM.

I agree that it all seems a bit secretive.

One of the original dealers I spoke to did say that regardless of order time / build etc, nothing will happen until "Official Launch" (as we have said before). When that exactly is though, seems to change around.

I read somewhere in this forum official launch was 19 May. My dealer tells me it usually takes 2 months from build to delivery. So March build, May delivery (I hope).

I wonder where BMW are planning to launch the car? Somewhere with good driving roads and little traffic..... hmmm. ;-)

Just got a call from my dealer and he said that he just got confirmation that my car is scheduled to be built in week 13, ie in the week beginning 24 March. Still on schedule for May delivery.

He didn't give me any VIN nos or anything. I asked what the official release date was and he wasn't able to tell me.

You won't get a VIN until the car physically exists. As soon as it rolls off the production line you should be able to get the VIN from your dealer. Once you have this, you can put it into the Auto Tracking of the shipping company to see which voyage it is booked on.

Once you know the voyage details, you'll know when it arrives into your port. You will usually receive your car about 2 weeks after it is off loaded at the docks. :biggrin:

I know this as this is exactly what I've done with my previous two cars. :wink:

So that means that by week 14 my car should definitely be off the production line. I'll pester him for the VIN no then.

I got an update today from my dealer. Car was slotted in (luckily) into March build, so he said it's being built right now. He is going to send me the VIN as soon as he gets it so I can track it

I wonder what BMW's done with that Le Mans blue 135i from the Brissie and Melbourne motor shows, 'cos I'm sure I saw it on a car carrier yesterday heading from Hobart to Launceston.

I was heading in the opposite direction and only caught a glimpse of it. Wasn't in a position to chuck a u-ey and I was in a hurry.

BMW should allow the car to do a tour of dealers so we can have a test drive. Too bad it is an auto, but better than nothing.

Official release date is May 19th. Watch out for a pretty intense online advertising campaign on that day across the www.ninemsn.com.au network

I've put my order in for a 125i - can't afford the 135 sadly. Not this time anyway.

Yup, I think that date has been mentioned somewhere on this forum. I am expecting my car to be delivered on that date as mine is a march build.

Now lets's see, 8 weeks and 4 days to go....

Not sure how to do the auto tracking and I assume the Owners Circle on bmwusa.com only works for US orders. Any one know how to track the car?

The week before the official price list came out. I ordered the Steptronic so there was practically no queue. I don't think the first year release in Aust gets the bonuses that the Americans get though. How about your order Kris?

Been advised my 135 will arrive in Melbourne on the car ship Talia on approx 1st of April. Worst thing it may arrive in Bris two weeks Later and sit out the back of Dealership until release date. Ordered AW , coral red , Pro HIFi and Sunroof. Build date in Germany was 14/02/08
