Embarrassing moment
Today is SUPER nice out, or at least compared to the last month of weather around here (DC). So I had the windows open, sunroof open, music playing, and was enjoying my 3.7 mile commute to work when I pull up to a red light. My shoes were wet from the ground which was still damp from last night's rain, and I was not paying enough attention to how little of my shoe was actually on the clutch...
I'm sure you can all see where this is going... The light turns green, I'm at the front of the pack and have an open road in front of me - I get a slight rush as I begin to anticipate the acceleration - I start to let the clutch out and WHAM it slips right out from under my foot. I stall right there in spectacular teeth-jarring and cringe-worthy fashion with a long line of cars behind me. Quickly I hit the start button and sure enough I stall AGAIN. By this time I've received a few honks and the light has been green for a solid 10 seconds that feels like all but an eternity. Three's the charm so I finally get off the line and hold my head down in shame as I roll to the next light and my fellow commuters pile up in the lanes around me with looks of disappointment. I've been driving manual transmissions for years and have hardly ever stalled so this was definitely not my best moment! Just wanted to share the somewhat entertaining start to my morning

So you're the one responsible for this morning traffic jam.

I've only stalled my 135i twice, but both times were strange. The cabin is so isolated from the engine it's almost difficult to sense when it's on the verge. Most recently, I stupidly put the transmission in 3rd instead of 1st and tried to pull out of a driveway and immediately stalled. The good thing is that the start button fires up the engine quickly.

Hey Matticus91, not making fun of you... just having some fun. I've stalled a manual in the past... I think every manual driver has done it at least once.

Happened with my first car, Honda Civic VIII. Stalled twice at the traffic, brushed it off like a man. Think of it this way, would be super embarassing if yours was a convertible. |

Wet shoes? You need a new pair of shoes then
Just kidding. I've done it so much with my old mazdaSpeed6 that it looked like I was in drivers ed.

At least you didn't forget to take it out of gear while in bumper to bumper standstill.. I'll let you imagine what that looked like. I did it twice in a row
