So far, they look alright. I was expecting A LOT more brightness out of them (they're "120W") but they're just fine. I wouldn't want them to be too overpowering at night anyway. $42 shipped. I could've gone with a $30-35 pair but a member here said they used them and had success so I figured why not. Here's what I ordered: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-H8-120W...53.m2749.l2649

I haven't tried them out at night yet. Will report how they look in a few hours.

The only thing I didn't like about the bulbs so far is that one of them had a bit of a loose container. Basically, the outside of it would kinda spin when I didn't want it to. I don't know if it's going to be an issue or not. Hopefully, not!

PROTIP FOR 135IS CONVERTIBLE PEEPS (extra oil cooler + extra bracing gets in the way of taking off the headlight covers):
You don't have to take off the bumper to put in new bulbs! Just wiggle the cover off as much as you can, loosen the two screws/bolts that hold the top part of the headlight in place, twist the bulbs out (with the cover still attached!), slip them out, slip new bulbs in, and slip in the rest of the wiring stuff you need. You can then pop the cover back on and good to go! No need to remove the bumper and everything!

Totally was removing the bumper and then was like, "Ya know, why not just try the hacky method and see if it works?"

Boom. Saved myself a lot of time and a lot of hassle.

Btw, what is the thing used for that comes off the LED Bulb driver? There's an extra part that is included with the kit that attaches to what I think is the driver. It doesn't go to anything, it just connects to the driver. My best guess would be that it's just a large capacitor that allows for some kind of fade effect when power is cut?

This: https://www.amazon.com/GFJMC-6321776...rds=H8+LED+BMW (5th image)
Looking good! I ordered the same set last week to replace my other ebay CREE LED halos. Only replacing since one was damaged in the accident.

That extra dongle is most likely to add resistance to keep the car from throwing a code.

I had them unattached initially and it threw no codes. I added them later because I got anxious about the things exploding and frying my car's electronics somehow.

For all those considering them: They look less stellar in daylight or a bright cloudy day. At night they look alright but during the day you can barely tell the outer ring is even lit. And to be clear, I don't think it's because the bulb is poorly designed or something, I think it's because you're trying to make something that is white even MORE white and bright. I think that's hard. I think the bulb is operating within the correct params but because the housing is also clear, it's going to appear quite faint (if even apparent at all) in comparison to something that clearly tints the closure.

One other thing: Now that the bulbs are white, maaaaan do those yellow indicators ever stick out like a sore thumb. :P I didn't think it would bother me but it does! I don't think I'll ever do anything about that but it's just slightly bothering. I'll post more vids/pics later for more of an idea of what I mean.

I love black cars, they look so good when clean, but I've heard that they're immensely hard to keep clean and looking beautiful like new. Blue isn't too easy, either, though...

Back on page 249 - several people discussed LSD's and if it was worth the upgrade. I can say 100% its worth the upgrade. I also have a stage 4 tuned 335d with a Wavetrac LSD, and it makes the car come alive. FWIW - I am making 725 wtq.

I also have a diff brace and diff bushings to put the power to the ground.

If you're seriously thinking about going with a LSD - I'd strongly recommend you look for Whitbread Performance in MI. Ship him your donor core, and its returned in about 2 weeks with a Wavetrac LSD and optional drain plug. His prices are insanely good.

I am building my 135 this winter and going single turbo - Matt is supplying the LSD and Bushings. He is also a master fabricator.

My old track was black and it was a bitch to keep clean and looking good. They look nice cleaned up but get so dirty so quick! The ceramic coat helps with that and keeps it cleaner between washes.

Now I’m curious... mind PM’ing me how much a LSD swap with Whitbread Performance cost? It’s far down the future for me, but still curious

I basically sold a 1991 CRX Si and converted all that into the bolt ons and mods I wanted for the 135i

Have two more cars to sell still!

Taking a break for the night after spending 3 hours straight disconnecting the myriad of hoses, electrical connectors, and vent tubes attached to the intake manifold. So complex...

My manifold is just caked in oil! However, my intake valves and ports are ridiculously clean, like spotless clean. Good luck with that, DI engines...

Anyway, the work is underway for my 3-Stage Intake Swap.

Here are my gorgeous inlet ports...the stuff of turbo car dreams.

Hehehe...

And here is the engine bay, lacking that massive lump of over-complicated plastic that was FILLED with oil...

And here is the manifold, finally out of the car, I moved it about five minutes later and there was a puddle of oil where it had sat, and apparently drained itself...

This project is moving along very well. I replaced the snapped head bolt. Went to the stealer (I now have the experience to say that) and bought a set of manifold gaskets for a grand total of $62 with tax. Then, I ended up snapping the PCV line in two, so I ordered that from ECS, adding in a set of gaskets for $30 and a throttle body gasket for $10, and a Mishimoto silicone intake boot for $60. We'll be returning the stealer's gaskets... $60, please...

EDIT: Would an oil catch can be beneficial to my car? Or is the oil normal/beneficial?
