Feeler - North Georgia Mountain Run (mid to late October)

How did it go?

It was a blast. We deviated slightly from the original route but I think it was for the better. We had two 135's represented, an Exige, two Elise's, a Mini, an S2000, a Corvette and a Fox body mustang with a full track suspension. I found the body roll of the 1 to be slightly unnerving in some of the twisties but that should be easy to fix.

Yes, it was fun blasting the turns in the '1', trying to test some of its limits. I'd really like to take it to a track for some real 'testing'.

It was also fun watching the Lotuses and trying to keep up with them; they obviously are more comfortable in the twisties, but I think the 'One' could keep up with a better driver than myself. If think alot of it has to do with knowing how to 'throttle steer' the car, though suspension mods might help relieve some of the understeer.

I did experiment some, and found I could do better (or at least thought I was better!) with the DSC off. It seemed there were many instances where it intervened rather early, and dampened my throttle response.

Did you happen to try 'DSC off', Matt?

I certainly enjoyed meeting you, Matt, and the rest of the enthusiasts. We need to do this again, and get more 'Ones' out.

I live in in Dawsonville and run the 'loop' whenever I get a few hours. 4 kids in sports tend to limit my chances.

I wouldn't mind it. I've got a new suspension going on along with new wheels and tires. It would be fun to see how it works.

I actually started talking to some of my friends recently about doing something like this in the fall so I am glad this post was brought back to life. Unless something happens that prevents me from coming up I would love to meet some new people and hang out.

ha! rodi has a broken leg from the snowpocalypse last month. rodi can't drive for another 8 weeks at least.

I'd like to come too but can only make it if it is during the weekend... I work Monday-Friday 8-5 and getting time off in the family business isn't easy! lol

If I could make a weekend trip out of it though we'd love to come! I know there are some other people in Jacksonville and Savannah that may be interested in riding too...

the only weekend (Saturday) that I'm free is June 18th and 25th. Sundays are good though. If we do a weekend, I recommend arriving to the prime roads really early to beat the crowds.

I would be down for a mountain drive. Haven't been on one in forever, and many weekends get eaten whole by work.
