Ordering parts from overseas with duty
Anyone done this, one of the parts I wanna order is adjustable suspension $2500US will I have to fill in any paper work for duty, what is the process?

The trick is to request that they keep the declared value underneath AUD$1000. Ask them if they will be ok to declare the value as USD$800 and you shouldn't have an issue.

I one had parts worth over $4k declared at like €50 (don't know why) and it was fine lol.

Don't forget that BMW is stealing from us though. I replaced the key for my 135. Approx $250 in the US and the UK but they won't sell to you unless you have a road registered car there. Here at BMW Australia it's about $750. That is outright stealing as the dealers overseas are making a profit on their prices.
Don't forget the price of postage or freight is included for GST and duty on overseas purchases. |

I do not believe this is true. I believe duty and gst is only applied if the value of imported goods (excluding freight) exceeds 1k AUD. Once 1k AUD of goods is exceeded, duty and gst will also be applied to freight... Or so I'm led to believe.
