Who has switched over to winters?

So I am just about to get my car back, hopefully all fixed up from the unfortunate fin incident. It turns out they can also mount and balance my winters which I may get in today so it would be really convenient for me to just have that done while its still in the shop.

I was wondering if anyone else has switched over already to winters? The RFT seem to be very slippery at any temperature below 50 degrees and mildly wet which is why I'm considering doing it so early. I got Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds which are supposed to be pretty good in dry/cold and not just snow so would that be okay or will this totally destroy them?

Large rims = high tire prices

I am about to get my winter tires mounted on my winter rims, but they won't go on the car until early November.

I Wish I hadn't developed my drive-favorite-car-thru-winter phobia... the 1 would be a blast on snowy roads.

With this week's temps, I would be tempted to put them on this weekend, but next week is forecasted back in the 60's, so I'll enjoy the sport rubber for a bit longer.

I did get the full set of snows+rims from tirerack last week though, so I am ready when the time comes.

I do have a winter car, I just wish I could have found an e30 that would pass inspection and wasn't over $5k.

on a different note, I can't get over how FUGLY the new '10 mirrors are... for the 1er. Have any of you seen them in person?
