Hehe. It's a big garage. Helps you to remember where your car is parked i.e. Level 5, Orange Area, by the carrot...

How is the process of ripping cds into hdd? Smooth? Fast? What about track names and Artists etc... Would be nice you could post some more info about that...

Do some CD's come with the track information on them? In that case I think the system will take that info automatically. Otherwise, I read that when you have your car serviced the dealer computer will update your HDD via Gracenote. And I'm sure they will do this if you ask them to. Bit of a pain though if you have to do it each time you add a CD. I recommend ripping your CD's to iTunes, adding all the track info there and then uploading off ipod. Much simpler.

I just went down to the garage and tried a DVD. It plays perfectly. Even in widescreen
Didn't take my camera though so you'll just have to believe me.

Haven't been on my hands and knees to look at whether they are actually ducts. The reason for the lack of foglights on the 135i is to feed air to the oil coolers which the other models don't have.
I think that if it was possible to have ducting to the oil cooler and foglights BMW would have done that so the cooling requirement must be quite large.

Does the Pro Nav play dvd movies????
No way.... I chose pro nav option in my 'coming soon 09 model'... but we don't get to pick tv option so how is this? 123D-M, can you save music form your IPod to the car's hdd? I have all my music nicely sorted in Itunes and that would be the best way to actually upload music from my IPod... But some of my songs have DRM protection as I bought it on Itunes Store... Any thoughts? Thanks

lol. it's all in the thread. but in short, yes.
Pro-nav plays dvds. Not related to the TV function which we don't get here in Belgium. And yes, can save directly from ipod to hdd and it keeps all the song titles, playlists etc. As for the DRM protection, that's a bit of problem. Some songs I bought from iTunes are 'Purchased AAC' files and they copy fine. Others are 'Protected AAC' files and they won't copy. Which is annoying. I'm sure there is a way to convert these files but I haven't investigated yet.

Okay so the purchased aac files are the new format (Itunes Plus) Apple introduced in order to avoid such a situation but the protected aac is the one most songs "older" songs are available. When you buy new release CD than most of them are "purchased aac" as they are Itunes plus. But if you buy some older cd's then they are protected and this when problem arises. I will look for some solution how to deal with that.
By the way- DVD Movies on Nav!!! SO cool I'm so glad I decided to wait for the new version!!!!!

Good to know. Thanks for that. Unfortunately most of the songs I tend to buy are older. I hear something on the radio and go "Oh I have to have that!" Annoying. My solution is to purchase it and then download an illegal copy for the car. Apple forced me to do it...

The other way would be to burn the protected aac files into audio cd, put into car and than rip it form it onto hdd.
Do you know if you rip the audio cd the car converts it into mp3 or something like that or keeps as audio? (As you know audio is much bigger and thus takes to much disk *******

I believe it rips it to an mp3 format. But I don't have any CD's to try out...
