N55 PPK2 Dyno result w/FMIC upgrade

Here is a "before and after" dyno result for my recent 5" ETS intercooler upgrade. The car was previously fitted with the BMW PPK2 (Performance Power kit 2).

I've been using the PPK for a couple of years so far. Its working fine for occasional track use with some basic cooling mods. The car was missing a bit of top end performance so I decided to try a FMIC upgrade to get more extended power curve.

Parts fitted:
* ETS 5" Intercooler
* ER N55 charge pipe.

The difference in peak power is pretty small - 7kW (9.4hp) on the day of testing. What is more useful is the power increase above 5500RPM. The intercooler and charge pipe appears to add 20kw (27hp) at 6000RPM. I guess the result is due to less heatsoak and maybe some change to pressure drop through the intercooler. I am yet to see if the change can be felt in track use. The real world result will probably depend a lot on ambient temperature and airflow.

Was there a notable difference in environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) between the 2 testing days?

Ambient temps were about the same. For the plot in post #1, it was about 68F and a few degrees warmer for the one in March 2013. For the 2013 Dyno in post #3, the plot shown was the best and last of several runs, so it may affected by heatsoak.

I can't be sure, but I think the fall off above 5,500 RPM is caused by the DME detuning the engine when the IAT (intake air temp) is above a certain figure.

211.7 kw = 284 hp What transmission did the car have?

Its DCT transmission. I was surprised to the power and torque being lower on the most recent "Before" test. In 15 months between dynos, it appears to have lost power above 4,000 RPM.
