Ozzy Cozzi / 5-Star Shine

Hi Guys,

I was wondering how many of you think that 5-star shine stuff is any good, or whether its bollocks and a really good wax every couple of weeks is the better alternative??

I am also seriously looking into one of those clear car bra things for the entire bonnet, front end and doors because I drive long distance every day to work and my current car seems to have many chips.

Thanks,

joseph

5-star shine = bollocks as you'll always want to wax it in the end. Ozzy Cozzi is OK on a dark car. Mine is silver and i don't like the very visible line on the lighter colours.

So you definately wouldnt get it on a white one? I'm getting a white 130i. How about if i get the entire front end done, like whole bonnet, front end so the borders coincide with the end of the panels?

The edges eventually get stained and collect dirt..Although they do supply you with a cleaning solvent to wipe down the edges with a cotton bud..

If you get the whole bonnet done it won't be so bad. I've only seen on with half a bonnet done.

I'm happy with the job Ozzicozi did for me. Unless you go searching for it, the line on the half covered bonnet is not noticeable in real life. Can you see it in the below picture?

However, I do agree the with the folks here that it does depend on your colour choice. I remember Zuzu and Breville thought Space Grey was quite forgiving when they saw it on my car. I also suspect metallics hides the line a bit.

Concerning paint products, personally, I don't believe in multi-year paint protection products. Best thing you can do is avoid birds by not parking under trees and to clean/polish regularly.

I have a white 135 with ozi cozi. As the guys said after a while dirt does tend to collect around the edges, however you have to be looking pretty closely to see it. The upside of no stone chips etc outweighs this for me so I really like it.

I was told that this type of stick on protection is extremely difficult to remove down the track?

The comment was it would almost be as easy to repaint the bonnet.
Woudl anyone like to comment?

thanks

Well I asked them that before I got it done and they assured me it is very easy to remove when required.

I have the half bonnet treatment and its only visible from certain angles.
Most times you wouldn't know it was there, my car is BSM however.
I do a lot of K's and after respraying the front of my previous car 3 times in 2 years due to travelling to and from the Sunshine Coast I was looking for something that was a viable alternative. There's nothing like following gravel trucks on the Gateway if you want an excuse for a respray.
For slightly more than the cost of a respray I have had the clear bra installed and after 12 months don't have one mark.
Several of my friends have also decided to get it done after seeing mine and how well it has worked.
I was also advised that it was easily removed as that was one of my concerns at trade in time.
To the OP , I would get the film run to the borders of the panels as per one of your posts
if you are concerned about how it will look on AW

OK

However it would be great to hear from someone who has actually done it and not the people selling it

Fair comment.

When mine was first done, the cut outs for the washer jets was wrong for the bumper piece. That wasn't obvious until the film was being laid on. And so a new piece has to be fitted, but not until a day or so later. At that time, I got to see the removal process.

As the film stretches quite well and doesn't break off like window tinting, this was actually quite painless. Thus, I tend to believe the claims of its removeability even after some years.

at our office on the Southside.

What did you pay/are you paying to Dijon for that? Normally over $1200 I think. I've negotiated somewhat less but I'm still tossing up if it's worth it. I follow the gravel trucks up the Gateway every day on the way to Eagle Farm. May get it done after detailing the car & displaying it at RACQ day at Eagle Farm this weekend. Only chip I can see so far is halfway up the bonnet.

From memory it was about $1100 as it was the first 135 he had done.
Think the cars getting done Friday are a fair bit less but neither are 135's.
At the time the 135 was a bit more than what the guys in Sydney were paying, but I also got some extras and as per my first post it was money well spent.

So can anyone recommend a good place in Sydney???

I'm probably going to have the whole front end of the car done, including the bonnet. Any ideas on prices?

The super car club have put ozzy cozzi on a couple of their cars and looks TERRIBLE!!
It has gone a dirty yellow colour. I hate it! The have it on the white GT3 i will try to get some pics of it.

In saying that is has been on the GT3 for about 2 years, so if you changed it every 6 months or so it might not be to bad because it was ok when it was first put on.

For me the main concern would be the removal after a year or two (in the elements) not so much after a couple of days when things are still fresh and possibly not stuck like SH%T to a blanket.

Surely someone has removed this stuff after a year or two and can add comment?

There is no way I would pay > $1,000.00 for 1 year protection.

Here are the folks who installed it on my car:

http://www.ozicozi.com.au/index2.htm

It didn't cost that much - I would contact them for a quote. By the way, its warranty covers yellowing which I agree, if it happens would look horrible on a white car.
