Strange screeching coming from engine

Hello all,

I am completely stumped with this and I hope you guys can help guide me in the right direction.

Recently, I replaced my brake pads and rotors and had the car up on my lift over the weekend. (every detail counts)

On Monday I finished the job, started the car, and all of a sudden I got horrible idle and the engine stalled. I tried again, and instead of dying, it just was surging very badly.

I got a check engine light calling for the Eccentric Shaft sensor. Fair enough, I can replace that. But my question to you guys is, what is causing this screeching sound? It happens when I accelerate over 3000 RPM. Is it related to the eccentric sensor?

I checked to see if anything was disconnected, but found nothing to be out of order. Check out my video to get an idea of what I am talking about.

Thanks all in advance,
Alex

I can't imagine the noises and running issues are related to your brake work. It is possible it is related to the shaft sensor (which looks like the valve cover has to come off - not a fun job). I would get that code confirmed.

Sorry I can't offer more help.

Pop the electrical connector off the eccentric shaft sensor and see if there's oil in there.. if so that needs to be replaced.. which sucks since its ~$500. The screeching sound is the crankcase vent valve in the valve cover itself. Loosen and lift up the oil cap while it's doing it.. should go away. Which also sucks because valve covers aren't cheap.
