There is undoubtedly a difference in shifting characteristics with the sport button pressed.

Had it done by BMW when the car was about 3 months old. It was unacceptable but after the flash DSC is about 50% as aggressive.

I turned off DSC and was amazed by how much power was being cut to the power train when this is on. Just push once to turn off DSC. Push and hold three seconds to turn off DTC. I am leaving DTC on and just turning off DSC. It is like a different car. I think DSC is designed to keep you from getting into trouble by cutting power immediately and DTC is there to try to keep you from wrecking. Turning off DSC tones this system down quite a bit and makes the car much more fun to drive. I use sport mode as well. I noticed that lag too when DSC was on.

I definitely experienced a jolt and lack of power for a brief moment as I was shifting from 1st to 2nd today. I was on the throttle pretty good with sport mode on. The jolt was a little alarming and I hope it doesn't continue. Just wanted to share my experience with this issue.

My wife just bought a 2012 135i and the 1st to 2nd gear shift definitely has a noticeable lag before shifting into second in manual mode. This is a bit annoying.

Reflash the DME with the Aug 2014 update may fix it. Just had mine done today.

DSC kicks in faster than most cars I've owned but the 135 is light in the rear and 300+ ft-lbs of torque can really roast the tires. BMW just has a safety Nannie mentality on a non-M car.

Where you having the same issue? Did they tell you what the flash did? Maybe tune down the DSC?

I sometimes have this issue only when I'm in manual mode, and not in sport.. Will try to turn off the DTC and see if its that.

I tried that today on lunch and it didn't help. I do have a JB4 but I still can get it to do it with it off, just not as violent.

Same here. Lightning fast shifts. With the sport button on I get the added benefit of the equivalent of a whack in the head because the shift is so hard.

Its ur traction control kicking in lol

Keep it off and you wont suddenly stop when the tires decide to spin when hard upshifting.

If that did not fix it you need to take it in. Should hit hard but not stutter.
