Engine malfunction!

I have gotten the engine malfunction..engine running at reduced power alert several times with no symptoms of reduced power or anything else. I always pull over and turn the engine off and back on and it doesn't come back on. The first time it happened I had just started the car and the engine was cold. I drove to the dealership and the service manager said that if it keeps happening it may be something with emissions or it just may be a malfunction with the electrical system! Anybody experience the same thing? Any thoughts!?

Pull the codes and then report back. Everything is conjecture otherwise.

Where can i have this done, does it have to be the dealership?! I have read that there was a recall on the hpfp, it that is it.
