40,000-60,000 mile maintenance
A lot of the 135i/128i used cars out there in my price range fall in that mile range.
For both I would assume that I'm getting down to the wire on the waterpump/thermostat. For the 135i I would assume HPFP, possibly wastegates or turbos, injectors, and walnut blasting? Just trying to gauge any future costs after purchase. I'm hoping for a fairly maintenance free first year. |

Be sure to get bmwhat app to code a battery instead of spending 600 to replace it. Unlike someone else on this forum.

Yeah, seems like you at least know a lot of the major failures this car is prone too. They hold up well tho. Don't let internet stories scare you away from the 135. Most times people just come to the internet to complain. I've seen fewer that fall victim to these things compared to those that run healthy for miles.

Better price your battery at your current dealership first. My dealer charged $417 installed.

The parts are much more expensive, but even then, it's not like you have multiple $500 parts failing every month. When I think expensive, I think my old DSM, which seemed to break down every week, and never run right. |

2008 128i 6MT owner here. Replaced my water pump preventively at 120K miles. Battery preventively at 140,00 miles (6 1/2 years). I think you should only need to replace trans/diff/brake fluids and plugs.
