The ARC-8 is a mesh design and comes in 1 series specific offsets.

The 18x8.5" ET45 wheel is 18.1lbs
The 18x9.5" ET62 wheel is 18.2lbs

You cannot just bolt on 255/35/18's onto a 1 series. The car must have camber plates, and the front fender to bumper mounting tab will need to be trimmed to make room for 255's.

275/35/18 is the max you can run in the rear (on our wheel) and that will still need careful attention to the fitment as certain tires combined with low ride heights can still have rubbing.

If you want a direct bolt on fitment I would recommend the following:

235/40/18 on the 18x8.5" et45's and 265/35/18 on the 18x9.5" ET62's. With camber plates a clean fitting front size is 245/35/18.

I prefer the 245/265 combo myself on the staggered setup.

Regarding non-APEX wheels: Offset is going to make or break the fitment. There are almost no wheels available that come in the widths and offsets that can fit a 1 series without rubbing or even just fitting under the fender at all. Most companies just sell 3 series wheels to 1 series customers due to the uniqueness of the fitment and the low volume that goes along with it.

You must look for high-offset wheels. Fronts need to be over 40, and rears need to be at least 50. If the wheel are concave or have a deep lip, it won't fit.

^This. Ive called and emailed several companies personally, including ones that ive bought from personally. *Cough OZ Racing Cough* They basically tell you to eff off. Ive gotten put in contact with TireRack a few times, to which I came back and said, "now what good is that going to do guys?"

Ohh also, its not that companies dont make proper offset wheels. They make them all the time for JDM cars, look at the recommended sizes for the S2000 as an example.

OZ makes the Ultraleggera in an 18x9 et55...but in a 5x114 bolt pattern

I dont understand why if theyre making the proper sized barrels why they cant simply change the bolt pattern in the mold right quick. I dont see this being as complicated as theyve told me it is in the past.

Maybe Paintpro can shed some light on this?
