Well, Evo's latest review reckons it drives like a sports sedan .

If not a SUV, then I second Donald with a 1M. At least drive we and see what you think, it is quite different to the 135i.

Alpine's is still up for sale?

If he dislikes the idea of a 235 cause it's not "different enough" then a 1M is a waste of time too, else the logic fails.

IMHO a 235 and a 5 y/o 135 are worlds appart, just my 2c.

Just came back from m235i Trivett launch and note that whilst it does look different to the 135i, it doesn't really look that much different if that makes sense. Was imagining the 1M beside it and felt the 1M's wider flares and lower stance differentiate the 2 cars. Personally prefer the e82s. Still believe OP should consider the 1M for an interim couple if years

Then might as well get a sports sedan. I don't need the extra 1cm of ground clearance small suv's afford to clear speed bumps. Wait, I do have a bit of a steep driveway, may be I do need one!! 😄

Again, 1M is not different enough I guess...
I know the 235 is likely to be significantly better, but it just doesn't tickle my fancy. Too boring looking. And 15k more than the m135i. May be the M135i is 15k uglier, Lol.
Btw, I do have 2 young children that I need to pick up from school from time to time, but not regularly. The 1er's back seats would suffice for now, but they are unlikely to stay small forever, so a 4 door car might be more sensible, although I can always ask them to stop complaining about being squishy at the back.
Currently liking the a45 the most, but yet to drive one. May be I am just being fooled by all the hype. Then there is the wait...

Thanks for all the suggestions.

One more thing, does anyone know if one can do hire purchase on a used car? I only do about 7-8,000km a year, and claim about 20% of that for work. My current hire purchase agreement ends in July I think.

I am pretty sure you can. I reckon you should just keep the car till something you like comes out. M2 will be 2016/2017 however in that category. Or wait till the CLA45 become more available.

I might end up doing that, hence not in a rush, but will actually start looking at some cars.
