Although I have dreamt of going up in flames, mostly the Tin Can just sends me into sandpits and walls.

Looking forward to 1MOz's report on A050

Advan A050, on the track it's brilliant. The grip level is phenomenal compared to my previous experience with high performance street tyres (I've used Pirelli PZero, Good year F1 asymmetric, Briidgstone RE-11, Michelin PS2 and PSS).

On first session, it felt strange as if the car had extra downforce probably due to extra grip that I am not familiar with. The tyres doesn't squeal when push hard at corners. And I didn't feel any deterioration towards the end of a 20mins sessions.

One downside of these tyres are the road noise as I drive to and from the track. It's horrendous. And yes it's a hassle having to change wheels when I get home.

Very glad I got a set now for the occasional days out. Highly recommended.

I agree! which track did you try them at?

these tyres are very sensitive to temps, they are at their best at 30-32 psi red hot. As soon as you come off the track test the pressure. EC was freezing the other day and mine handled like crap for the first session, they were only 26.5 psi after 20 minutes. once filled to 30 psi they handled like a dream. difference is huge.

I spent the day at a private circuit.

I started with 30psi and it was a cold day so I didn't even bother checking the hot temp after each session. I had Ric Shaw as my instructor and he was very impressed with the car and tyre set up.

Interest comments from Frank Williams from an interview, he said the best performance comes from 25% horse power, 25% aerodynamics, 25% TYRES, 25% driver skill.

Love your work mate. Wheels look fantastic.

What do you use to get them so clean around the lug nuts. That's the bit I always get tired with.

Ian, I just use a small paintbrush to get in there. Something like this.

Thanks mate. I've been wanting this since the day I bought the car and finally got it from getBMWparts.com, shipped via a freight forwarder as they don't ship to Aus. Not necessarily best price out there but it's done...feel very nice with the alcantara, it's not as chunky as the stock SW. The flat bottom is a nice touch too.

getBMWparts.com (Tischer) definitely have the best price out there - by far - but I've never used a freight forwarder before so not sure how much that adds to the cost... If you don't mind PMing me the details I would very much appreciate it...
