Oh the pain!!
Oh the pain, the pain is almost unbearable - how do you all cope?
You order a car one that you have researched so completely. You spend a couple of hours in the dealership speccing your dream, only to be told that you have to wait for a few months to take delivery. It is a cruel cruel world we live in where you have to wait such a long time!! Ah well, "character building" as my mum used to say, and will heighten the joy come delivery day.......oh the pain!!! |

pumaknight, you are better off than most other here (or on second thoughts perhaps that should be worse off) as you have had the privilege of getting to drive the car first. But we all share your pain and know exactly what you are going through.

Oh I would go for worse off - "Tis better to have loved and lost then not to have loved at all" as the saying goes - well that is total BS. If you haven't oved, then you don't know what you are missing. And I now know what I am missing big time.....

The only thing keeping me from going crazy is knowing that I have two lease payments left on my Audi and that it is still winter here in the NE. I am the most impatient person in the world! I just keep wondering what it will feel like the first time I get in my one. I truly hope I will not be dissapointed.

I have not had a chance to drive the 1er yet, but I have had the honour of sitting in one, but I did at least get a test drive in the 335i and that was awesome, so I can partly place myself in your predicament. I wanted to go back for a further dose of the 335 this week so that it was not complete "cold turkey", however some tonsil test drove it this weekend and bashed it a little so it is in for repairs. I at least got a step closer today as I received my VIN

Well, if it makes you all feel better, my unbridled enthusiasm of more that 18 months will continue well beyond the intro of the 1er. We have a 2006 Odessey that, according to the "Minister of Finance", needs to be paid off before I can trade 3 Series for a 1er. So I'll be watching all the 2008s and possibly all the 2009s motor around before I can actually get my own. The only solace I take from my situation is that I'll benefit from the inevitable minor improvements that work their way into a car in the second and third model years... Cold comfort though...

spudwest, such discipline.
Although I guess if "she who must be obeyed" has spoken then I guess you will just have to wait it out.

To say "I feel your pain" would be both a terrible understatement and a Bill Clinton quote, so I won't bother. But, I can say this...

Can the pain be any worse then placing that order...waiting about a week, and then finding out that things just aren't going to work for what you wanted...
...I still come on this forum like 3-4 times a day...I'm not even getting a 1-series anymore...:iono: ...But on Saturday I'll get to know my "fast" a little better...but the VW forums just aren't the same...:drinking: |
