Forthcoming Merc A25 AMG: intended to enter 1M, Cayman R and RS3 territory

Set to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show 2012 (Sept/Oct 2012).

The AMG boss wants this puppy to beat its contenders.

Hm, those rear vents seem to become a standard feature on many performance cars.

I applaud them for creating a small 4wd monster.
But no manual no want.

Really though, do they expect this to be any sort of "competitor" to the 1M?

Completely different ideas....

In which case I would love something like this to get up to the ski resort in.

I am a sucker for hatches. We'll just never see this in the states...

Don't give up hope too quickly. Last week a journalist reported (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...-amg-spy-shots - March 23, 2012), for what it's worth, that the A25 AMG might land in the US in 2013:

"The story doesn’t end there as AMG boss Ola Kaellenius has previously revealed that there will also be hotted-up AMG versions of Mercedes' other compacts, which are expected to land in the U.S. along with this A Class AMG model next year."

I like it. It looks better than the F20 to me.

Maybe my sister would like one

Here are some pics I took of the Concept A-Klass during last year's NYIAS. Tell me that's not hawt! But before everyone get's excited, we know there is a huge difference between concepts and street cars...

Yeah. And they stole the front vents from the RS3.

It seems more targeted at the M135 hatch.
But AMG products are automatics, as previously mentioned. I'll take a miss on that but it sure looks cool. I don't know, maybe if I get married I'll look at one.

I don't see MB selling any A-classes in the states. Heck they couldn't even sell R-Classes!

The A-Class and B-Class have fast become the old people's car over here in Germany. You know this when your stuck behind one on a Sunday's drive and you see Opa's hat in the rear window/hatch glass area. lol With the new B-Class MB is trying for a younger customer. But I think this isn't working for them.

Last week I was looking at an Audi RS3 (up close)while I was with some friends doing a Werks tour there. Did you guys know the RS3 has larger tires on the front axle and smaller tires on the rears! lol 235's vs 225's.
