Ideas for Interior storage space
the 2010 1 series have an empty tray just below the AC/Heat now since they moved the seat heaters to that area. I was think that would be a great place to put a hidden compartment, or some type of area that the front could slide down or something. anybody know if this exist...or thought about this mod? Attached is a pic which shows that empty area on the dash, NOT the area where the ash tray use to be.

You'd probably have to go custom to do your hidden-storage idea. See how much that plastic faceplate is, order one, then maybe order a door like you'd find on the ashtray (08 models had ashtrays with cig lighters, not just an open storage *******, and cut a hole that'd fit the door. You'd have to create the "box" behind the door out of abs plastic or something.

that sounds possible..but a lot of work. just seems like such a wasted space. in my old car, they eventually made a tray that went in that spot. we will see how motivated i get over the next few months.
