the alpina flash is terrible in d and drives like shit but great in sport

but be ready to do more frequent oil changes in the transmission

It turns the oil black really quickly especially when your driving style is more on the aggressive style

Yes I'm getting mine done today as its gone clunky when cold in D now. But mines also done 110k so maybe just due for it.

I also got ptf to change the throttle mapping tables to help eliminate the Alpina's tendency to change up too early in D which helped a bit but also increased my average fuel consumption from 12L/100 to 14L/100.

Still not sure I want to go back though as the M shifts are so quick and crisp.

The alpina flash really works the transmission hard and I would suggest oil changes at every 10k when tuned aggressively or over 260rwk

Found this on a few cars now

Cheap insurance

Btw this transmission get clunky once they reach over 80k, too much power for such a weak transmission

Trebila explained that his flash isn't the stock flash. He's tweaked it a lot. He said he hated it in D but now he's got it nice.

Good info Marty, how easy/hard is the auto transmission change?

I don't know what I'm on now. I need to get dynod once I'm all dialed in. I have a flash ready to go from Trebila to start

It's not hard to change the transmission or to do a service on it

Transimission is costly, a good second hand will set you back around 2.5k

A rebuilt stock one around 4.5k or nizpro one around 8.5k

The guys at Active Motorwerke said I should also change the tray/pan or whatever which has the filter built in. They want about $800 all up to do they tray, filter and oil change. But they said once the tray/filter is changed then only need an oil change from there on which is only about $350.

Does that sound ok?
