automatic mirror dipping???
Hi guys,
i read on a previous thread that the mirror dipping on reverse is standard. However, mine doesnt do it. Gone through the instruction manual but havnt had much luck, just says set it to drivers side mirror and it should work. ive tried setting it to both drivers and passengers side mirrors with no luck. is there a way to set it? btw no idrive here. cheers |

I think it's part of the premium package. I have it and my switch is set the the drivers side and when I put the car in reverse the passenger side mirror dips to the ground for me.

I know it's standard on my 135i. It should work when switched to driverside and put it in "R". I too do not have idrive. If it still doesn't work, take it in for warranty.

jksgoh do you have electric seats? If not, you won't have a reversing tilting/dipping mirror, unless you got the int & ext mirror package.
Talk of premium package is a US only thing.

Its actually part of the "anti-dazzle" mirror option, the same option that folds the mirrors up when parking...... not sure if this is stad on the 135i in Aus. I've read you can drive off with mirrors folded up, and at 15km/h they will re-open, although..... as usual... stealer reckons not in Aus

Dazza you get a reverse dipping mirror on the passenger side if you have:
a) electric seats (standard on 135i); and/or b) the interior and exterior mirror package. I have option b on my 120i, and they don't move back down until about 40km/h. You can't fold them up over 15km/h (why you would want to, but of course I've tried... ). I got that package cause I wanted the reverse tilting mirrors without spending extra on electric seats. Since my 135i will have the reverse tilt feature standard, I didn't bother again with the interior and exterior mirror package. For the 135i it only offers fold-up mirrors (not essential in Aust) and the anti-dazzle/dimming outside mirrors. That is a cool feature, but I never have really had a problem with other cars so I thought I'd skip it this time and spend the $$ on various BMW Performance parts instead.

I used to park cars, as much fun as that sounds, its not. But one thing i did learn is that this option blows, I couldnt park worth a damn with it. maybe it helps with parallel parking! but i suck at that so f-it
