Loaner Review Part II 09 535i
Well,
I kinda wish I wasn't writing this review but last night coming home from work my car went into limp mode all of a sudden, dash lit up out of no where. I called my SA to bring my baby to the dealership since they are open late during the week which is nice. I turned the car off and turned it back on and the light was gone and the car ran fine again Since a code was probably stored, I wanted to know what happened. My dealership has taken pretty good care of me so far so fingers are crossed. I just had my fuel pump replaced about 4k miles ago. My SA and salesman noticed my berk exhaust as soon as he fired it up and complimented me on it I had my choice of quite a few sweet bmw loaners but I decided to try a brand new fully loaded 2009 535i with 900 miles on it. I had the 335i last time and I wrote a review and impressions post on it. Well, I can say this, I thought the 335 was big! This bad boy is HUGE I can only imagine what the 7 series must feel like! The weather is florida has been horrible for the last 3 days so I cant report too much on the performance of the car but its comfy to say the least. The interior is very nice, from the dash to the buttons and knobs. Better than our 1 series but I would hope it would be for the money! I am hoping it dries out later so I can drive it a bit more to see what the N54 can do in the big boy! Overall, nice nice car but WAAY to big for me, I miss my 135 Patiently waiting for dealer to give me an update on my ride. Brian

Man oh man do I agree. Every time I have driven my mother's 5, I feel like I should mount a Howitzer to the roof.
The 1 is the best looking BMW, and just the right size.

A friend of mine in Germany has a 730d and it has a TV receiver in the nav. This thing is really big, about the size of my first apartment. Everytime I ride in it I look for the remote for the TV.

Something wrong with 3. I swap between E class and 1 daily and never feel that E class any bigger. I can tell only that 1 accelerates differently.

Its over at Reeves BMW in Tampa where I bought it from. It threw 2 codes:
One for the gas cap??? They replaced it.. The other code says to update the software...I hope that goes well.. I am still enjoying the 535 in the meantime and should be giving it back today. I will follow up later today Brian

i love those new 5s also. they are fast for being such a large car. i drove automatics in both the 535i and 550i. i'd never get an automatic in a 1/3 series, but it seems to fit the 5 series very nicely. wish i could swing for a 535i for my daily driver!!!!
if you have a chance, take the 550i for a spin.....damn its fast. the "traction light" goes off if you floor it at 40MPH.....now thats power. i love the heads up display also!!
