Premium package, those without it happy?
I'm not sure I want to spend the money on the premium package
electric seats are heavier, and the only thing I've ever had problems with in my bmw's is electric seat motors I dont need the garage door openers, or the compass, and I've lived without bluetooth for all these years lumbar support would be nice, but not really sure I need it really the only option in the premium package I like, is the auto dimming mirrrors so, to all those without the premium package, how does the window mirror work, is there a flipper? My mini cooper has a round plastic thing you turn, and I HATE it, not sure why they did not use a flipper like every other car 2000 $ more on my build, for a bunch of stuff I really don't want, and only one thing I really do want |

I have no issues without it. Everything does what I want it to do and I dont regret not having anything thats included with that package.
The mirror does have the turn knob. which personally I like. I havent really had to use it that much since my windows are tinted I dont get that much light in my eyes at night. If your not going to use 80% of the package then I really dont see a reason to get it.

I'm happy without the premium package. However I do regret not getting the sports package. I can't tell the different leather and ette, the mirror isn't a big deal for me, I do think you get some extra lights or something on the door but I could be wrong.

I am adding sheepskin inserts to my blackette.
If I had the premium package I would be covering the leather. I really wanted the cloth/leather seats. I am very happy. To much money for things I do not want in a sports coupe. JMPO |

If money is not an issue, I will get the premimum package, but sport package is a must. The base 125 already have things like power window, remote lock, adaptive xeon light, on board computers, power sun roof ...etc. what else do you need. I absolutely can do without leather, blue tooth and BMW assit.

As I wanted leather, power seats, homelink and lumbar, I ordered the Premium Package. While it's nice to feel pampered, the one item I would rather not have is the auto-dimming mirrors, as the "manual" mirrors on previous BMW's are easier to control, IMO. I wonder how much BMW's bottom line would suffer if they separated out all of the PP items as individual options - I suspect they would still stay in business:iono:

I'm very happy with the Premium Package, but I believe that the Canadian Premium Package is different than the US version....

I went the minimalist sports approach with sport package and vinyl. Luxury was in the form of upgraded stereo. I haven't noticed missing a thing and saved several thousand dollars for trips.

i recommend the package. the best thing in it is the bluetooth. so much more convenient than using an earpiece. and with the new cell phone laws, this was just in time for me.
the other things are nice too - mainly power seats, leather and lumbar support. while the first two are a matter of taste, lumbar support makes things so much more comfortable. couple this with the sports package and my seats are really nice.

I'll probably get it... reluctantly
I don't necessarily want leather but the power seats and bluetooth are must haves and would cost $1750 to add on. Lumbar support and garage door link would be nice too so I might as well bite the bullet and get the premium package.
It's too bad you can't pick and choose individual items to add to your order. Burger King let's me have my Whopper made just the way I want it and it's a just $4 cheeseburger. Why can't I get my $40k BMW exactly the way I want it? |

well, bmw's advertisements for the plant say how every car on the line is different
and other countries get to pick options it's just bmw USA that's limiting what we can pick and choose, mini really spoiled me when I ordered the r56, whatever you want, they will do |

if you don't care about leather it's not worth it. i knew i wanted leather and assist so it wasn't too much of a jump to get premium. i would recommend assist. for only a little bit extra money vs lojack it offers the same services as lojack in case your car is stolen, plus bluetooth, help if you lock the keys in the car, and more. power seats seem useless if you're the only one driving the car, but convenient if there's more than one driver. but i'd also feel weird when a friend sits into my car, fumbles for the seat controls and asks me to explain how a bmw luxury car does't have the power seats that honda civics do..

Should also note that my luxury came in the form of the fine-tuned BMW driving experience. No need for premium package here.
