As far as I understand, they would be covered if they were BMW approved winter tires pkg.

Have you found anyone selling a good tire/wheel package for the 1M in the GTA. Mine does not arrive until January and if I don't order the winter's soon I will not be able to find any.

I decided to take a different approach than the BMW winter setup.
I wanted to maintain the look of the stock CSL wheels, and ended up going with a setup of 19x8.5 wheels with 235/35/19 tires, at all 4 corners. Slightly more contact patch than the 18-inch setup, but I'm hoping looks better. There are a lot of nice wheel options out there for 19x8.5. Check out **********s.com. I went with Alufelgen CS7s in hyper black. |

Steelcase Tire in Markham. They quoted three packages, the most being around $2200. The wheel are similar looking to the last gen M3 but are aftermarket. They also offered a deal if I bought a winter package for my girl's Q5, so I will probably go with them. They are a very busy shop though, I would avoid on weekends if you can.

Does anybody have any experience driving their 1M with snow tires on actual snow/ice? I've got tires/wheels and even some snow/ice already, but no car for another month. I'm interested to hear some first hand accounts of how the car does in winter conditions.

Also interested in the 1M on true snow/ice conditions. Maybe a frozen lake... ;-)
I would like to put Nokian Hakka 7 tires on mine. Spiked ones. Superb up here in Sweden. The Nokian Hakka R is the ones without spikes. Made in Finland for the real winter conditions in the North. (not the terrible central european winter tires.) Any videos of the 1M on ice? Im still looking for rims and tires over here in Sweden but seem hard to find any good looking 18" that fit the 1M... :-( Any good suggestions would be excellent! Need to order tires soon. Get the car in January in the middle of the Swedish winter... |

Snow in New England = 1M road challenge
From MA, and had to part with a 135i m sport in the past secondary to the car's inability to move once snow fell. I can't say the same about this car, such an impressive machine. I left stock rims on (even though I have a winter set up already waiting) and tried making this car dance on snow, some ice, and slush. Did not get challenged once, all conditions were handled extremely well. This is now my 8th BMW and I think it is my favorite

@japi: Is that central european rubber? Or is it made for us in the Nordics? I think I will go for 18" and Hakka 7 instead. Did have european rubber on my Alpina B3 and I did spin around with it so never again...

@one-emm: What tires are you going for? I assume you will refit the tires with summer/winter tires every year? That is smart as you save the money for the rims! Love to get more info around what tires you bought and where? I might consider doing the same thing! BTW what part of Sweden are you from?

Ouch $3800 is the quote for the BMW approved winter tire package from my local stealership. Definitely need to find some other options. I am hoping to get some more suggestions from this thread. Local independent garage told me $2200 but when I asked about spacers he told me that he does not recommend because it causes the car to have a "shimmy" at certain speeds.

I was working with David at EAS. I was thinking of 19x8.5 et20 with Dunlops 245/40 - just checking with him to make sure no clearance issues would be had or why everyone is going 18's.

Hello everyone!
This is my first post here as im still awaiting delivery of my 1M (few days left!). In the meantime looking for winter tire options i dont see many manufacturers offering exact stock fit (245/35/19 and 265/35/19). Do you think smaller tire (say 255/35) would fit the stock rear wheels? Same for front (going to 235/35). The stock tires already looking stretched... Cheers Lukas |

I would not mind 255 back but don't want the "german" look. You know the space between the rim and tire is to wide... (looks plain ugly)
Any pictures of winter tires on the original wheels? Please!!! ;-) |

Does anyone know if 19s from the 335 will fit the 1M?
They should be 19x8 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back, but I'm not sure. They're the rims that come with the Individual package, can't for the life of me find the specs though. I know they'll look weird, I just need them to drive from the shop back home, have the car sit on them for a week, two weeks, and then drive back to the shop. |

That's what I was thinking. Even if the 9.5 works in the back, the offset would be too high.
But was wondering maybe someone here has made them work with spacers. I just need something on the car in the garage, and to drive for about 45 minutes |
