Computer?

That's true in a strictly linear sense...however, in our three dimensional world....
The computer doesn't see the curve in the road or hill coming up, and has no awareness of where other cars are relative to the driver. It doesn't know if it's raining, and can't tell when there's snow on the bend. I think there's more enjoyment and efficiency to be had in planning one's approach to a given stretch of road using manual mode than DS.

I agree that manual mode isn't the same thing as manual, and certainly is not SMG, but I love having the ability to determine the shifts, and not be totally dependent on step-down.

put 325i on sport mode.......I got my money on the Bimmer.
Accord will be ahead on first 1-2 second then get blown away and bite the dust of 325i after.

IF its the 240hp one you should lose unless he does not know how to drive. It will be close but with the same drivers you would lose.

I think the 325i will win hands down. The accord has more power but is also heavier. You'd also have to rev that engine like crazy to reach max outputs. I say turn off both DTC and DSC and just go with it.

the reason we turn DSC is so that it wont cut power to the wheels when you're flooring it. Say you're peeling out and DSC detects too much wheel spin, it would cus power to that wheel(s). You'd lose if that happens.

EDIT: put $20 on it. Then again, if he loses he'd want a chance to win his money back.

Tell your friend to grow up

Who cares? It’s still only a Honda Accord. I wouldn’t even stoop down to that level. Your friend seems a little insecure/jealous and the only way that he can gain some parity with you now is to claim that his car is faster. Don’t give him the satisfaction. If he wins you will never hear the end of it.

All this racing between stock vehicles is unnecessary IMO. It’s common knowledge which car is faster. It shouldn’t be up to you to prove it to him. Tell him to pick up a book if he wants to know which car is faster. What I found is that its more about Ego than anything else. Some people cannot accept the fact that “you” have a nicer car than them so their insecurities lead them to want to race.

I’m glad I don’t have friends like that anymore, Or maybe it’s because I’m getting older and I don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone anymore. If a person in a Honda Accord wanted to race me I would laugh in his face and walk away.

I find it funny that some people on here hear Honda Accord, and automaticly think " it has to be slower than a BMW"

Practice Brake-Torquing before you go.

Hold the brake down with the left foot. Heavy gas with the right. Let go of the brake. Practice it a few times at different RPMs to see when you get the best launch.

P.S. If you don't report back to this thread after we'll know you lost!

I'll place my bet on the e90 325i any day. Anyone wants the Accord?
I owned an Accord 01 V6 coupe, 200hp and I was smoked by my cousin's 00 323i sedan with only 170hp every time, every trafic light, from stand or rolling.
