Cool. I will probably order them with the 17" Sport Edition F10 wheels and BMW center caps.

Would you spend the extra money to get the 225/45/R17 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D tires over the 215/45/R17 Dunlop M3 tires? Is there much of a difference?

Thanks.

Unless they've fixed it, Tire Rack's form will pop up a warning when you try to buy the V-rated tires. Don't let it scare you into changing your order to H-rated.

Gill,
We just got an 08 135i sport convertible and need some winter tire advice please. I have 4 extra oem BMW Style 105 17x8.5 ET 50 wheels, I'd like to use. Would 225/45r17 V rated Dunlop Winter Sport 3D tires work on that wheel and on the 135i? I'm in upstate NY, with lots of time with dry roads, but occasionally have good snow storms with slow plowing by our house. Would this set up be good or do you have other suggestions?

Thanks.

Not sure on that one, the 50 offset is pretty high on the front with 8.5" You might have clearance issues to the inside.

Gill,
Just ordered my winter package from tirerack for my 09 coupe.
205/50R-17 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 RFT Runflat
17x7.5 Elbrus I04 BDC ICE
Can I use my stock center caps from my OEM wheels with the Elbrus wheels, or will I need to order another set from somewhere?

I'm not finding an order for you in our system but the BMW caps do fit that wheel.

Ordered them last week, they should arrive by Monday. Don't really want to take the car into BMW to get them put on, kinda of a pain dealing with them, they're a tad bit uncooprative with Americans How difficult is it to reinitialize the sensors?

So the tires i have on my 2011 135i are 215/40R18 but all the winter tires are 225/40. Am i missing something? will they fit on the oem rims?

I have the sport package on my 128i, so the stock tires are 205/50R17 front and 225/45R17 rear. My snow tires are Michelin X-Ice on Sport Edition F10 wheels, purchased through Gill last year, and all four are 205/55R16.

I'm never quite sure what tire pressure(s) to use for the snow tires, since the listing on the door obviously doesn't apply. Chart in manual shows 32 psi for 205/55R16 on the front, but lists only with a 205/50R17 on the rear at 35 psi. The only option in the chart with the same size on front and back is for 195/55R16 with 32 front and 38 rear, so it appears front and back pressures should be different.

Then I've also seen some info that says pressures in snow tires should be a little higher.

Can anyone help with correct tire pressures for my winter setup?

Thanks!

I have the exact same tire size for my winters with Blizzak WS-60's and I keep pressure at 35 psi all around. 7,000 miles on the tires and no signs of problems or irregular wear.

What's the best way to order a 16" winter setup from Tire Rack when you want wheels not listed in the package builder? Fake it out using the normal build process on a non-Sport Package car, or call it in?
