M3 control arms

Hi all:

I'm new to the 1-scene and I'm curious what the benefit of the M3 control arms up front is? I've seen a number of members who have made this change.

Better neg. camber? More favorable suspension geometry?

More camber adjustment is available (not all need it but it's there if needed), and stiffer bushings for better steering feel (another caveat here is that it's better for enthusiasts possibly worse for stereotyped grandmas). If your'e talking uppers & lowers both that is, this is the net result. Alignment needed afterwards, factor that into the price if you do it.

Camber adjusts to neg 0.75 deg; that slight adjustment greatly reduces understeer and the stiffer bushings firm up the steering.

Anyone just do the lower arm for the camber and leave the other one alone?

The tension strut is required for steering improvement, the lower control arm will add camber and improve longitudinal wheel travel a little bit more.

Just installed these this morning. Was amazed that I could tell by looking at the wheel how much the camber changed. It looks like more than.75 degrees. The toe is way out, undriveable. Though I'd be able to deal with it for 1 day but I left the car at my shop. I'll align tomorrow.
