Sure it comes off... it has to be installed at some point... it's shown separately in this picture:
I've gone as far as removing the center console, HVAC controls, glovebox, and dash trim piece but the thing doesn't feel like it's going to budge. Wondering if anyone knows a trick to removing this. Ultimately I'd like to remove the dashboard. |

I actually looked into removing that a while ago, and the way I understood it, you just remove the trims above and remove two bolts on left sides of the #7.
That was if the dealership refused to replace the part for me (it was peeling where knee hits it) and I had to do it myself.. the dealership replaced it for me so I never learned to do it |

So I got it loose but couldn't get it out. Took it to the dealer and was told it just needed a little more force since they put some sticky goop on the attachment points. They were right. Wasn't too bad once I got that pointer. My dash is now rattle free after putting felt pads on all the attachment points
