I want better pics. Loving the side vents.

These pics may have just changed my mind about getting my deposit back! All i need to hear on the 12th is that it will be around the £40k mark and im in..

Mark are you in still?

I can't tell for sure. Do the side gills have an opening/ air extractor?

If a girl tease with me this much in real life. I think I'd either give up or commit a crime.

I hope that thing is functional because it doest look too good. Its weird that they gave it a more vertical vent (not M-like) and then slapped a chrome indicator thing (straight from M3) on the side.

No, there isn't an actual vent or opening. It is just a crease in the sheet metal of the fender.

Do we still care anymore? I mean, does BMW think we're still in awe about "the thought" of a 1M. I like it, it's cool, but come on, this isn't the new F3x M3 now

Hmm I thought the 1M only had eyebrows, but it seems like the headlights have been outlined with some type of matte black 3M-like vinyl.

Is that the way the headlights would come out out of the factory? If so, it does not look too good for my taste.

Completely agree. This marketing makes me feel antipathy towards 1M. Just drop it out like other M-cars and that's it. As said before, swelling marketing makes me feel that the car has something less than other M-cars due. I still believe BMW has created an excellent car, but why market it like explaining all the time that this car is worth waiting?? If there's no reason for explanations, why they are trying to create more hype than ever before? Around fairly normal M-car...I understand ultra-modern hybrids but this is just one more good M-model, no revolution at all.

Remember old rule: more noise = often less substance!

Here's what I meant:

Eyebrow on top of headlights: <--- Not bad. Actually looks good.

Vinyl outline on city lights and around whole headlight: <--- Makes the whole headlight look cheap. Eyebrow was good enough IMHO.

That black vinyl is part of the camo. We've seen the LCI headlights before on an Active E prototype (click here), but BMW doesn't want to show them before the E82/88 LCI is announced officially.

Best regards,

Reminds me of an ISF where the fender meets the door.

Best regards,

Thanks for the clarification south!

IMO If the 1M's headlights came that way with the vinyl stuff attached, it just made the headlights look cheap.
