135 Exclusivity?

in the debate between the 135 and the 335, i have discovered a new dicering facter, the 3 series is bmws highest volume car, does anyone have nay idea of how many 135s will be comming to usa every year? i read sumwere tht bmwwas only looking to import 20,000 1ers a year and only 5000 of thse would be 135s. If thisis true this will makje our new cars far more rare than the high dolar amgs and m series cars we see cruisn around so much. what are yalls thoughts?

Actually, IIRC, the number is 20,000 1er Coupes/Convertibles worldwide, with only ~ 11,000 of those headed to the NA market. BMW sells about 200,000 + 3ers each year in the US. I suspect that they take rate on the 1er will be:

135i Coupe first, 128i Convertible - 128i Coupe tied for second, and the 135i Convertible being the rarest of them all.

i think in the beginning we will see 135's mostly cause they will be special orders in the first few allocation then later in 08 early 09 we will see 128's on the lots and 135's mostly sold cars coming off the trucks.

side note...i went to my dealer the other day and walked around back and no joke, their were about 20-20 328xi coupes, 335xi coupes and 328 coupe convert there. The dealer seemed overstocked in 3-series coupes. might be a nice time to cut a nice deal on a 3 right now, especially being about 2 months ago you couldnt even put a finger on a 335 coupe.

Lots of 3-series available

While at one of my local dealers yesterday, i noticed 4 328i coupes, 6 335i coupes and 6 convertibles (2 328, 4 335). Tons of 328's and 335's too. Geez! Two months ago I turned down deals on 328i coupes at $750 over invoice from two different dealers. Wonder what they'll do now with all this stock on hand? Too bad I love the 1-series so much. The new 3 is just too big and fat for my taste.

Hopefully, other customers who come in for a 1 will leave with a 3. Better chance for 1series discounts that way.

Garage List
2008 135i Coupe  [0.00]
There are only 200 135s and 128s coming to the whole of Australia for the first year. Just 2 135 coupes will make it to my state Tasmania. AND I HAVE ONE OF THEM!!

wtf??? are you saying the 135 will be the most commonily seen 1 series?

either way its still more exclusive than a 3 series coupe, im also glad there is a big differnce in appernce between the 128 and 135 unlike the 3 series...IMHO
