I'd say it's an advantage over the black and white.
This colour is ONLY available for 1M, while the other 2 are to be found on let's say 50% of the 1 regular coupe series....
matter of taste and personal preference, but I think in terms of collectible value VO might be the one....

Oh, tough luck for that seller: an orange BMW is hideous. His brains must have been M.I.A. when the color question was raised by the dealer. Remains the black and white BMW: but then again, ain't B&W televisions so passé nowadays? So, if spending 89K, why not throw in some extra dosh and simply wrap the orange BMW in a more decent color, like pink or so.

Tough to say, color is really subjective, like beauty it lies in the eye of the beholder. You can make the argument out of the 740 made in the US the VO were most widely represented, hence 'more frequent'. At the end of the day, don't think color will matter all that much.

PS: VO is a color option on the current 1-series hatch (not sold in US)
