PPK 1
Been dying to get the PPK for my'09 135. As everyone knows, the cost is ridiculous! Somehow I managed to get it from the dealership for list price minus 55%.

What's list price here in Canada and how many hours labor are they charging to install it?

Ok, I've had the car back for a couple of days and here's a quick impression.
The Alpina B3 flash that I had and loved, was overwritten by a new update. :/ That transmission update resembles the descriptions I've heard of the "sport' flash. It seems like a milder Alpina without the mpg savings in D. As for the PPK1, my first impression is the improved throttle response. In daily driving, the engine responds without a hint of lag. Not that there was much to begin with! I'm led to believe that the ecu needs to go through the learning curve before I can judge the full effects. One thing that's really obvious is the sound. Opening the throttle gives a beautiful raspy and deeper growl than before. Initially, I thought I was imagining this but, several friends have commented on the sound and wondered what I'd done. To make a long story short, after just a few days and at an installed price of under $1k Cdn, I'm impressed. The thought that it might get even better over the next week or so keeps me smiling! More later. |

I have the PPK1 and BMW PE and I love it - however, I bought it this way (dealer didn't even know or list with it as a selling feature) found out after. So that being said, I don't know any different but I freaking love the sound and power.

Going in next thurs to get it installed.
Called both elite and otto's here in ottawa and they both list the ppk1 for $955 plus 2 hour labour. I couldnt get either to budge on the price but ottos was willing to do 1 hour install instead of the 2 so its better than nothing I suppose. Looking forward to it, got the PE last summer and this ppk should complete the upgrade with the added burbles and pops. I'm not expecting to notice any power difference as the manual is listed to only have 7 ft/lb more which seems like placebo but I do read that the turbo lag is reduced. So I have the sound and hopefully throttle response to look forward to! |

Performance exhaust = amazing, especially with the PPK 1.
I had a magnaflow cat back on my 128i which I thought sounded awesome, paid 500 plus install for that and the PE kills it in a heart beat. |
