I didn't mean to sound like that post likely came across. I was just wondering, since 'Insulator wax' seems like a special purpose wax, whether it's a general-purpose substitute for Carnauba and the like, or whether it has a narrower, niche application. Is there a use where it outperforms other waxes? Thanks in advance.

Its shine is as good as Zaino (I've used both) and so far its protection and water beading last as long, for a third of the price. The only trick with this wax is due to being a wax... it takes some 24 hours to really get hard/cured, so multiple layers have to wait that long. And because of taking that long the finish is very susceptible to swirls/marks if the wax is removed by hand in the wrong way during that cure time. If you use a PC there is no swirls/marks issues, just leave the car in the sun after waxing and it will be great. |

I've never used the 845 product being discussed here, but I have used Collinite's Fleet Wax #885 religiously for the past 25 years.
885 is specifically formulated for marine and aeronautical conveyances, but can used for automotive applications as well. I like it because it's a paste wax (carnauba) and is easily applied and buffed by hand. It also provides long lasting protection (how often are boats and aircraft waxed). Just use Jetseal 109 or other sealant as a base coat, and apply a coat or two of 885 and you'll have a mirror shine with outstanding protection as well for the next 6 months. I'm pretty confident 845 provides the same level of satisfation as 885.

I have used #845 for years. It is one of the best around for the money. I had a coat of this stuff last for about 5-6 months at one point. Easy to apply and easy to remove. I highly recommend it for those looking for a long lasting protection (especially during the winter months).
