Derek: you have to research to see if your car is prewired for it. I got stuck with 2 of these and on my 2011 I had to buy a $40 retrofit harness from bmw. This has the connector, as show in pic, no cut wires or anything like that. I saw a thread showing the 1M is prewired but not sure if any other 1 series is.
Illini: I'm too lazy to research if it has autodim but I highly doubt any recent BMW mirror with homelink and compass would not have it. Can anyone confirm or tell me an easy way to check? Finally, someone PMed me saying there is one on ebay for $120. That one does not have a compass (the lighted letters that tell you which direction you are going). This is a fair price, I'll be losing money after eBay fees. No hurry to sell it either...not like these things are going out of style. Last edited by McClane; 11-23-2011 at 02:44 PM.. Reason: already had pic of connector |

/\ your pic, looks like this has autodim...the little dot at opposite end of clown nose on glass surface...on back side of unit is another sensor indicating autodim.
I bought my homelink, compass & autodim for 170shipped...you'll need retrofit harness. Last edited by doublegbmw; 11-23-2011 at 06:56 PM.. |

Price is firm as mentioned. Will re-evaluate in the spring if no takers on here or the bay. Chief you already offered me $170 total on Ebay...
