South African Owners - Tracking Device

I'm sure all South African owners (like me) have to get a tracking device installed in their beemers...(damn insurance companies!)

What tracking device did you get installed?
How much does it cost you a month?

I got the netstar slueth installed. I didn't want an early warning system, because I paid for comfort access and i don't want to hassle with extra remotes (like the tracker one for early warning).

It cost R750 to install and R99 a month!

I have Netstar Sleuth on my E46. I plan to move it to the E90 next month. I've been using Nestar Sleuth since 2000.

I'm paying about R110 per month for Sleuth. I also don't want the Advanced tracking systems, because I want to pay as little as possible for the tracking subscription.

I'm already paying too much for insurance, so I see no point in paying high subscription fees for tracking.

My insurance company insisted I put in a tracking device. When I spoke to BMW , they recommended Netstar and not Matrix etc. They said that if you install a brand that was not recommmended , it could void your warranty and motorplan.

Anyway , I got the sleuth. The insurance company paid for the fitment, so I'm just paying the monthly fee. Don't pay for fitment , get the insurance company to do it for you.

The good thing for me was that Netstar went to the dealer and fitted the device before I took delivery , so it was very convenient.
