VIC Highway Patrol
Had a close one today. I've only been in Melbourne for 1 month and I got pinged doing 113kmh on the ramp to a freeway but he let me off with a warning as I've still got SA plates. Jeez 113? Bloody killjoy. The on-ramp is the best part about being here!
I may as well go and buy a diesel golf and be done with it. |

Welcome to Victoria ... It absolutely sux and quite simply you just have to stick to the speed limit and spend more time looking at it than the road.
Do as many track days as you can to get it out of your system, some great tracks down here. |

You guys shitting me 103? I usually set my cruise to 109 which is 104 on the garmin. Crap, no wonder I'm passing everyone else. In SA I could sit on 116 and go thru a 110 zone speed trap and they wouldn't even bat an eyelid.
Problem is now I've got the cobb this thing just starts to pull really hard with a real growl in 3rd at 3500-4000 which is to infinity and beyond the 100 point. Oh and he didnt even notice my 12mm spacers all round. |

Sorry to play devil's advocate here, but as silly as the speed limits are in many areas, the law is the law. If you intentionally break it, don't complain if you get fined.
Having said that, I agree that common sense should prevail at the end of the day and getting fined for going 103 is nitpicking. It's worth mentioning though, if you get a fine for 103, that means you were clocked at 106 and your speedo was probably around 110. |

Its not that bad guys I've had 1 speeding fine in 10 years on the road. At least our roads are smooth and open. I hated driving in Sydney. Small roads and shit surfaces
