N52 upgrades?

Hey guys,
Currently have a 128i 6MT slick top. I'm currently struggling deciding if I should upgrade to an f30 340i msport for the power but also aftermarket support. Would love to hear if anyone's heard of recent n52 builds and what I could do to possibly increase the power on my 1er for the time being. Currently just have a cat back and K&N drop in.

Thanks
-Sam

Step 1 should be a 3 stage intake and tune. Completely changed the feeling of my 328.

Stage 3 intake manifold and tune should get you to 270 Horsepower, its the manifold from the 330i and such. Intake and exhaust will probably add 15hp together.
Will sound amazing and be noticeably faster than stock.

redo 130 tune?

I had stage 3 intake installed last year, and a tune.
Unfortunately, the shop doing the work really had no idea what they were doing. It literally took them months to get the job done, it took them three or four tries to get it tuned.

They told me after the initial tune, they had 14 error codes and had to start over... multiple times.

I was glad to finally get my car out of that shop.

I don't really feel any difference in the way the car drives. Comparing it to my wife's 128, no real difference in performance.

I took it to another shop, they confirmed the DISA valves are in good shape, and working.

the question is whether to attempt another tune, no one is able to confirm for me whether the car has "taken" the tune that was presumably installed by the first shop.

Any ideas/suggestions?

OK, well at least now you know where not to go to have your work done. Choose a reputable tune like Active Autowerk and find one of their dealers to have the tune properly installed. The before/after difference is obvious so apparently your first attempt didn't work. One of AA's dealers should do the job right. Not a lot of power options for the N52 but this is probably the best.

You're not going to get anything like 340i performance out of the 128i. If it doesn't satisfy you now, it's not going to satisfy you with 50 more very expensive HP.

Of course, a new car is also expensive...
