What happened - did it fall off or stop working? I recall there is a way to open the hood with a broken cable.

Instead of using the title "BMW" each time, You might have used the title "problem opening the hood latch". And yes, Lester's right, there are instructions on how to open the hood latch as a DIY

Apparantly the cables stretch over time and the latch mechanism may get corroded, and makes it tough to open. I'm going to spray mine with WD40 and see if it helps prevent this from happening.

I gave up. Won't be directly responding until we can get some decent thread titles, as petty as that might sound.

Life is tough when you always have to ask for help because... why is that, again? Either too lazy to look or incapable of looking.

Sometimes asking the same question in the same thread even when the answer has already been given, like where to get the exhaust installed.

Don't know why I bother either. I'm not really helping, but instead enabling.

By the way, how do you post a previous thread into a tread? Does the question make any sense?

Huh? What did this have to do with a hood latch release problem? Maybe this belongs under the title "BMW".https://www.1addicts.com/forums/imag...s/offtopic.gif

Just a little sarcasm. Lol.

But for all you guys that still reply to OP, this is the reason I keep reading these threads. You are the guys are helpful resources for us that are new to the 1 series and always give good info regardless of how many times the questions have been asked or how elementary the questions seem. Sharing your knowledge and experiences selflessly, so thank you for people like OP and myself.

Hope all of you are having a great holiday!
