Blackline tail light DRL Issue

Hi all, 5 months ago I purchased genuine LCI blackline tail lights for my 135i (xenon version with day time running lights) which worked perfectly until recently the right side daytime running light bars (which also function as the tail light at night) stopped working.

When unlocking or starting engine the LED bars light up maybe 10% brightness for about a second before turning off which made me think it's the short circuit protection or resistance check by the FRM but when I hooked up my pre LCI tail light the running light LEDs worked fine so I'm a bit confused now.

Is it simply a faulty light cluster or can this be fixed by coding?
