OEM calipers painted yellow?

Anyone see an Alpine white E82 w/ yellow OEM painted calipers? I might go that way, have them powder coated like this techart gt street.

@kirkx5m

Is the 135 badge on the back of your car black? if so, did you buy it or colour it yourself? Looks shit hot!

Also, are the brakes lights tinted as well?

hey buddy, yes the badges were part of the MFEST gang but i have debadged my car so if you want the set, PM me and i can mail them to you for 20$, they are sitting in my parts cabinet in the garage they are painted black by the MFEST body shop.

the brake lights have a tint on them that is correct. got cited once for that here in socal but crossing my fingers it wont happen again.

if you buy the performance calipers from bmw as a separate upgrade i believe they come in yellow. it costs like $2100 or so for the set; a bit more than powder coating

ive looked at those but they are more of a mustard yellow not a race yellow...
thats a fail in my book esp when the perf upgrade doesnt even include rear upgrades.

This outfit offer a reasonably priced upgrade, I think it even cheaper if you PX your grey calipers

Just curious, have you thought about powder coating them red? The yellow looks cool, but red seems to be the color of choice on white cars, from what I've seen anyway.

I believe that Porsche actually uses the color of the calipers to show the type of brakes that are on the car (i.e. silver is for standard brakes, red is for performance brakes and yellow is for carbon ceramic brakes).

I do think that the right color of yellow would look awesome on a white car! And it's something a little different too.

yeah...

black is for non-S cars = Cayman
red is for S cars = cayman S
yellow is for cars with PCCB ( porsche ceramic composit brake) = Cayman S w/ PCCB upgrade

I've always liked red, but never really thought of yellow.

After seeing this, I won't say I like yellow more than red, but I will say it does look good in yellow too!
