Using Wheels without TPMS sensors?

I'm about to order a set of track only wheels/tires for my car. I would like to save myself $200 and not install the TPMS sensors.

I'm OK with having a light on in the gauge cluster, but will iDrive screen be constantly popping up and alarms beeping?

Can I close the display, or will it pop back up again similar to what happens if you have a low tire?

it will keep on showing that until you do something about it.

+1 I was wondering the same thing... you constantly have an 'error', but no beeps, no problems, no crap, no nothing.... if you're used to the light from the DTC being off, you get used to this real quickly too

My main concern was the iDrive screen popping in the middle of some corner distracting me (I always put it down on the track). I can get used to the light in the dash.

i'm sure once you accept the error and close the screen it wont' come up unless somethign else trips an error.

I took the TPMS sensors out of my wheels on my Tacoma. I built a container out of 3” drain pipe and put a screw cap on it. Then I put a valve stem on the container, sealed it up, filled to 35 psi and put it behind the rear seat. No warning light.

IDBMW must either be an Engineer or a former SeaBee. What an incredibly simple solution!
